As a maximum, children and young adults can only attend our setting for 2 days a week. We will also require a timetable of other activities and provisions the young person is accessing to allow us to be confident that we are not operating as an illegal school, but also to work with other providers to ensure a cohesive package of support for all our learners.
We have split our groupings up to make it more accessible for all.
NURTURE - a programme designed for children who need a lot more support within a setting. This programme runs on a Monday and a Thursday at The Hub in Hathern. It delivers a child interest led curriculum with enrichment activities that push the learning from outside the home setting, but within a homely environment.
UPSKILL - a programme designed for children who are focusing on progressing with their educational journey, but still require additional support. Children will work towards ASDAN or the ART Awards, as well focusing on the core subjects, Maths English and Science as a standard expectation within this programme. We will work towards GCSE or Functional Skills - depending on the child's individual needs.
NEXT LEVEL - a programme designed to help young adults and older children to transition from childhood to adulthood. This programme focuses on following the pathway for Adulthood programme, and will ensure all young adults have the correct Maths and English qualifications they need to assist with college applications or Working Experience. This programme will push everyone to meet their own potential through impedance, group work, independent learning and getting ready for the next level in life. There will be visits from numerous outside agencies who will assist with the preparation and reliance needed for each person. This programme is also designed to interject a lot of fun, interaction and peer to peer relationship building to promote friendships outside of an educational setting, through shopping trips, luncheons out, day trips and whatever else the group decide to plan within their budget.
Arts Award helps learners develop vital 21st century skills – creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, leadership and entrepreneurialism, to name just a few. There are five levels of Arts Award – Discover, Explore, Bronze, Silver and Gold. Young people can work through the levels or start with whichever is right for them. Discover is an introductory level which rewards participants with a certificate. The other four qualifications are listed on the Regulated Qualifications Framework. Achieve Gold Arts Award and you’ll have a Level 3 qualification worth 16 UCAS points.
We are a member of ASDAN which means that we can provide learners with access to accredited curriculum programmes and short courses which develop skills for life. ASDAN programmes are designed to “engage, elevate and empower young people aged 11 to 25”* [CM1] in greatest need.
